ABOUT HER

LEILA FARID

GenderFemale
AgeEarly 20s
Height5'4"
BuildWiry
OccupationCryptozoologist
ResidenceItinerant
PassionsThe unknown, local food, rats
FlawsExcess credulity, little restraint

The war between bleached blonde locks and the true brown roots growing out in their wake rages on above the golden, fascinated stare of this Midlander. Her eyes always dart toward motion and her feet always carry her toward the unknown, and that combination often places her amid trouble. While she's no stranger to a fight, sporting an athletic form and some weaponry on her person at all times, she's not keen to throw the first punch in a conflict. Her tan comes and goes with the seasons and the climes she ferries herself off to in search of one grand adventure or another. It's a small wonder that her gear always seems to look as good as new and her supplies never seem to run short when she's out in the wilds. When she speaks, she does so at great length; her voice is rich and full of tone and sentiment. Her enthusiasm is as boundless as her stamina, as the young Dalmascan never seems to tire nor lose heart.

HOOKS

YOU MAY KNOW HER

Wilderness run-ins are unavoidable when Leila's investigation strategy relies so heavily on beelining toward sound and motion. Most travelers and hunters aren't exactly as silent and unseen as they prefer to seem for their given tasks. At least these run-ins tend to be cordial on the cryptid hunter's part.Born to a conquered nation, this Dalmascan woman has known the cruelties visited upon her people at the behest of Garlemald's IVth Legion. Until Noah van Gabranth's death, Leila lived in the Estersand of Dalmascan Desert. She's familiar with a fair few faces from her own people as well as the IVth Legion.Leila spends a lot of time in libraries researching the legendary creatures and ancient myths in which those beings play all-important roles. She is an avid reader regardless of the text's difficulty or language and she has a habit of engrossing herself a little too deeply. One needs to immerse herself in the occult to engage with cryptids shrouded in that selfsame obscurity. Is the local coven hosting a ritual that might bring about a visit from the Lord of the Forest? Leila's there in an instant. Maybe there are rumors of thaumaturges meddling in powers best left alone. You guessed it, Leila's there too. Town's experiencing a recurring haunting incident because they improperly buried somebody? Oh yeah, she's there.Sometimes, a girl is just bubbly. If her name is Leila, then she's bubbly all the time, and is more than happy to share her particular interest with others who might also take a shine toward terrifying beasts of myth or the sudden disappearances of entire villages on the Hingan mountainside. Really, she'll bend any ear to the will of her passion.

IN CLOSING

THANK YOU

Thanks for taking the time to read any or all of this. It means a lot to me even if you're just poking your head in. I'm a 30+ writer with plenty of experience in both MMO and tabletop RP. You can catch me most evenings (EST or EDT) for a quick word or a long scene.I'm interested in writing a series of dynamic scenes that roughly constitute a plot or plots with people who are 21+ and whose characters are also 21+. Leila is very much a character driven by adventure, exploration, and attempts at making the unknown into something known. While she's not exactly a philosopher, I want to try to make the stories she's involved in at least a little high-minded and oriented around a literary theme or two.The lore of the setting matters, and while we're able to bend it to make cool things happen with people we like, I'd prefer to stick closer to it than not. That's not to say nobody can be 'high power' or 'high proficiency,' since plenty of that exists within the setting. I'm obviously going to be making up some few cryptids, too.Let's try to be mature and communicative about what we're trying to get out of our writing if we write together. This means I'd like to avoid jumpscares from unexpected sensitive content; a few words of warning go a long way. Please don't express bigotry, as I don't tolerate any of that.My ideal is that we make something cool together. I think a lot of different people all have a lot to offer each other, and it's fun to get to see everybody's little blorbos have harrowing times together.
